Paraná security AI platform resolves 1,800 cases

The Paraná Public Security Secretariat (Sesp) reported that its artificial intelligence monitoring platform, Olho Vivo, has assisted in resolving 1,885 cases since it began operations in December 2025. The system, which integrates the efforts of the Civil and Military Police, has contributed to 1,300 arrests and the recovery of 557 vehicles.

Developed in partnership with the startup Pax, the technology utilizes 972 cameras to perform real-time license plate reading and vehicle identification, including color and model. The system allows for semantic searches using natural language, enabling officers to locate suspects based on specific clothing or vehicle details like dents and stickers.

A study by LCA Consultoria compared the Paraná system to the security program in São Paulo, noting that per installed camera, the Paraná tool is 21 times more effective at capturing fugitives, 43 times more effective in flagrant arrests, and 108 times more effective in vehicle recovery. The state plans to expand the network to 1,500 cameras and implement facial recognition technology.
