Brazil sees Instagram and Banco do Brasil app outages

On the morning of Valentine's Day, Instagram experienced a technical failure that prevented users from loading the feed, updating stories, or posting, especially via the web version. The problem also affected Facebook, prompting widespread complaints on X (formerly Twitter).

Later in the week, the Banco do Brasil mobile application suffered a nationwide outage, with users reporting login failures, endless loading screens, and an inability to view balances or statements. More than 2,500 complaints were logged across major cities such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasília. The bank confirmed the issue, noting that card services and PIX transactions were not impacted while technical teams worked to restore functionality.
