Brazil sees rise in facial plastic surgery procedures

Data from the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) indicates a global rise in facial and head procedures, which exceeded 7.4 million in 2024, a 4.3% increase from the previous year. Brazil remains a major hub for these procedures, recording 910,879 cases in this category, including over 121,000 face lifts and nearly 99,000 neck lifts.

Medical specialists highlight the importance of managing patient expectations, particularly regarding the use of celebrity photos as aesthetic references. While visual aids can assist in communication, surgeons warn that individual anatomy—such as bone structure, skin thickness, and tissue quality—imposes limits that prevent identical results to those seen in celebrities. Experts emphasize that procedures must respect the patient's unique facial proportions to ensure both harmony and safety.
