Brazil Senate CPI summons former governors Ibaneis Rocha, Cláudio Castro and ex‑central bank chief Roberto Campos Neto

The Senate Committee of Inquiry into Organized Crime approved, on 31 March, summons for former Distrito Federal governor Ibaneis Rocha, former Rio de Janeiro governor Cláudio Castro and former Central Bank president Roberto Campos Neto. The committee also approved a series of requests to expand investigations into financial structures, public agents and alleged facilitators of illicit schemes, including testimony from former BCB director Renato Dias de Brito Gomes and alleged money‑laundering intermediary Yan Felix Hirano. Additional demands were sent to BNDES for information on a multibillion‑dollar concession of the BR‑163 highway in Mato Grosso and to the Brazilian Air Force for flight records of Gulfstream and Dassault aircraft linked to individuals under investigation. The aim is to clarify possible links between public officials, financial operations and organized‑crime networks.
