Brazil launches 2026 National Multivaccination Campaign FAST-MOVING
Brazil’s Ministry of Health began the 2026 National Multivaccination Campaign on 3 August, running through 1 September. The free, SUS‑provided drive seeks to update vaccination cards of children and adolescents younger than 15 years, targeting roughly 1.1 million records and aiming for at least 95 % coverage. All vaccines listed in the National Immunization Calendar are offered, including polio, measles, hepatitis, HPV, influenza, COVID‑19 and, where applicable, dengue. A national “Day D” mobilisation is scheduled for 22 August, when health units across the country extend hours to accelerate catch‑up vaccinations.
In the state of São Paulo, the campaign expands measles immunisation to everyone aged 6 months to 59 years in Guarulhos, São Bernardo do Campo and São Paulo city. Paraná introduced a second dose of the inactivated polio vaccine (VIP) for 4‑year‑olds, and the new polio booster was rolled out nationwide on 3 August. Municipalities from Rio de Janeiro to Manaus, Barueri, Divinópolis, Campinas, Canela, São Luís and others are conducting the same outreach, using schools, mobile units and home visits to reach families with incomplete schedules.
