Jair Bolsonaro's guns partly delivered to Federal Police; search finds none
The Army Police Battalion reported on 6 July that it had handed six of the eight firearms registered to former president Jair Bolsonaro to the Federal Police, following an order by Supreme Court minister Alexandre de Moraes after Bolsonaro's temporary house‑arrest was renewed. Two weapons – a 9 mm Glock pistol and a Maestro shotgun – were not located. Bolsonaro’s lawyers say the pistol is in the custody of the Distrito Federal police and the shotgun is a gift stored at a weapons‑import company in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul. On 8 July the Federal Police carried out a search of Bolsonaro’s residence, as mandated by Moraes, and found no arms, ammunition, accessories or registration documents. Bolsonaro, convicted to 27 years in prison for an alleged coup plot, is serving his sentence under house arrest while recovering from bacterial pneumonia.
