Brazil Supreme Court orders platforms to meet new content-responsibility rules by August

The ruling, issued on June 17 after the Court concluded its review of two extraordinary appeals, overturns the previous standard that held platforms liable only when they failed to comply with a court order to remove illegal content. The STF now requires proactive measures to prevent fraud, false advertising, fake profiles and other illicit activities online.
