Brazil tax authorities announce final 2026 income‑tax refund batch and end of Vila Velha municipal amnesty

The Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (Receita Federal) will make the fourth and final payment of the 2026 income‑tax refunds at the end of August. The batch targets taxpayers who filed after the deadline or who resolved issues that placed them in the tax‑audit system, with refunds credited to bank accounts or via Pix.

In the municipality of Vila Velha, the Refis 2026 program offers up to a 95% discount on interest and fines for overdue municipal taxes. The period with the highest discounts ends in August, after which the rates will be reduced. The program, running until 7 December, allows installment plans of up to 60 months and aims to regularize roughly 80,000 taxpayers. Finance Secretary Adinalva Prates urged residents to take advantage of the final discount period, saying, “Estamos na reta final da etapa que oferece os maiores descontos do Refis.”
