Brazil technology market sees rising smartphone prices and falling internet costs

Samsung has implemented price increases for several Galaxy smartphone models in Brazil. According to reports, some models, such as the Galaxy A07 4G with 256 GB of storage, saw price hikes of up to 109.2%. These adjustments are reportedly linked to the rising global costs of electronic components, specifically RAM and storage chips.

In a separate development within the Brazilian telecommunications sector, Anatel data shows that the average price of mobile internet decreased by 13.4% over the past year. The average cost per gigabyte (GB) fell from R$ 6.19 to R$ 5.36. This price reduction occurred alongside a 16.8% increase in average monthly data consumption per user. Regional pricing varies significantly, with Amazonas recording the lowest cost at R$ 3.87 per GB and Rio Grande do Sul the highest at R$ 7.26 per GB.
