The program functions as a savings incentive, providing financial support tied to school enrollment, attendance, and successful completion of high school. Since its launch in 2024, the government reports investing over R$ 12 billion into the initiative.

Lula cited significant improvements in educational indicators between 2022 and 2025 to justify the expansion. During this period, the high school failure rate reportedly fell by 62%, and the dropout rate decreased by 61%, reaching a historical low of 2.5%.
