Brazil travel trends show rise in wellness and corporate trips

Travel patterns in Brazil are shifting due to changing professional demands and mental health concerns. A new trend known as ‘Disconnection Tourism’ has seen a 42% increase in searches for ecotourism, isolated coastal villages, and wellness-focused destinations. This movement is largely driven by young adults aged 25 to 42 seeking digital detoxification and nature connection, coinciding with an 823% increase in burnout-related leaves reported by the Ministry of Social Security over four years. Consequently, requests for travel insurance with expanded medical coverage have risen by 38%.

Simultaneously, corporate travel is seeing a resurgence. According to a report by Hoteis.com, 56% of surveyed Brazilian travelers report making more professional trips now than before the pandemic. Many travelers are spending longer periods away from home, with 42% staying eight nights or more during business trips in the last year. For these travelers, convenience, reliable transportation, and high-quality Wi-Fi are critical factors in destination and accommodation selection.
