In exceptional circumstances where local infrastructure or suppliers are unavailable, passengers may pay for their own expenses and seek reimbursement from the airline within seven days upon presenting receipts. The updates clarify that providing such assistance does not constitute an admission of guilt. These regulatory updates follow data from AirHelp indicating a rise in service disruptions; between June and August, flight cancellations increased by 14.5%, affecting 786,200 passengers, while delays of two hours or more rose by 17.9%. Major hubs such as Galeão and Guarulhos recorded the highest volumes of affected travelers. Beyond passenger rights, Anac has opened a public consultation regarding new rules for monitoring and enforcing CO2 emission reduction targets. The proposal includes a potential fine of R$ 750 per ton of unreduced CO2 for operators exceeding specific emission thresholds.
