Gol launches direct São Paulo‑Ushuaia flight, inaugurated by Argentine minister Scioli

A new direct air connection between São Paulo, Brazil and Ushuaia, Argentina was opened on 9 July. The inaugural flight was operated by Gol Líneas Aéreas using a Boeing 737 MAX‑8 configured for 176 passengers. The service runs three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) until 29 August.

The ceremony in Tierra del Fuego was attended by Argentina’s Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports Daniel Scioli, Tierra del Fuego Vice‑Governor Mónica Urquiza, Gol executives Alberto Fajerman and Luciano Arizaga, and local tourism officials. They highlighted the route’s role in attracting Brazilian winter‑tourism, strengthening regional connectivity and generating economic benefits for the hospitality and service sectors in Ushuaia.

Gol officials said they are negotiating to keep the flight for the next summer season, and Scioli praised the initiative as a "special moment" that will promote Argentina as a quality, safe destination for Brazilian visitors.
