Brazilian artists Nilo and Kerolay Chaves denounce online betting promotions

Singer Nilo used Instagram Stories to highlight footballer Kylian Mbappé's reported refusal to appear in gambling ads, calling the stance “Postura de campeão” and urging athletes and public figures to consider the impact of betting promotions on young and vulnerable fans.

Influencer Kerolay Chaves, known for adult‑content platforms, criticized online betting ads after a Times Square campaign featured her image. She said she rejected a R$ 1 million offer to promote gambling, arguing that her adult‑content work is transparent and does not give false hopes of financial gain. Both figures joined a growing debate in Brazil and abroad about the social responsibility of celebrities in advertising betting services.
