Itaú opens Pedra Preta VIP lounge at São Paulo’s Guarulhos airport

Itaú announced that its new Sala Pedra Preta VIP lounge will open on 29 June 2026 in Terminal 3 of São Paulo‑Guarulhos International Airport. The 1 400 m² space, spread over two floors, can accommodate about 166 passengers and will operate 24 hours a day. Designed by Perkins&Will with interior work by Studio Campana, the lounge features a curated art collection that includes works by Candido Portinari, Beatriz Milhazes and Vik Muniz, gourmet cuisine overseen by chef Luiz Filipe Cortez, a premium wine list and a bar partnership with Diageo.

Access is limited to a select group of high‑net‑worth clients: holders of Itaú Personnalité cards, the The One Mastercard Black, the World Legend Mastercard and all Itaú Private customers. The opening follows a broader shift in Brazil’s premium‑card market, where several banks have tightened VIP‑lounge benefits by imposing minimum‑spend requirements—e.g., Santander Unlimited now requires R$ 30 000 in three‑month spending, while many others set thresholds between R$ 3 000 and R$ 15 000. These changes reflect growing costs and competition in the airport‑lounge segment.
