Brazilian banks shorten branch hours on World Cup match days

All bank branches across Brazil will close their public counters two hours before each Brazil national team match in the FIFA World Cup. The Federal Bank Federation (Febraban) ordered that on days when a match falls within normal banking hours, branches keep their regular opening time but end face‑to‑face service early: if a game starts at 14:00 the counters close at 12:00, at 16:00 they close at 14:00, and at 17:00 they close at 15:00. The schedule varies with each match’s kickoff time, and the rule applies to standard branches in all cities, while locations with special operating hours such as airports or shopping‑mall kiosks may follow separate arrangements. Digital channels, including internet banking, mobile apps and Pix, continue to operate normally throughout the tournament.
