Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) hosts regional conferences and memory projects in Bahia and Pernambuco

On July 29, the OAB Bahia opened the IX State Advocacy Conference in Feira de Santana’s Convention Centre. The two‑day event, themed “Advocacy and Technology: Present Challenges, Future Paths,” gathered lawyers from across the state to discuss the impact of digital tools on the profession. The opening ceremony was led by OAB National vice‑president Felipe Sarmento, with participation from OAB Bahia president Daniela Borges, regional OAB leaders, and ministers of Brazil’s superior courts. Discussions emphasized balancing technological advances with human dignity and preparing for the national advocacy conference in Salvador later this year.

Separately, the OAB Pernambuco Subsection in São José do Egito will inaugurate a series of memory‑preserving spaces on August 26 as part of Advocacy Month. The project includes murals, a poetry wall, panels celebrating the institution’s interiorisation, and a gallery of past presidents, aiming to honor the history and cultural contributions of lawyers in the Sertão do Pajeú region. Subsection president Hérica de Kássia Nunes de Brito highlighted the initiative’s role in recognizing past leadership and fostering future generations of advocates.
