Brazilian cities boost emergency health services with training and SAMU anniversary

The municipality of Arapongas in Brazil hosted a regional training on the Acute Coronary Syndrome Care Line, gathering doctors, nurses, pre‑hospital staff and managers from several nearby towns. Organized by the 16th Regional Health Authority and local health agencies, the event featured speakers such as cardiologist Dr. Camila Perugini Stadtlober and aimed to improve integration between primary care, emergency services and hospitals, reduce treatment delays, and enhance patient safety.

In Botucatu, the city celebrated the 15th anniversary of its SAMU 192 Regional service. About 180 participants attended a ceremony that honored long‑standing staff, presented Merit Awards, and highlighted the service’s second EMS Angels Diamond Award for excellence in pre‑hospital stroke care. A recovered patient shared his story, underscoring the impact of the emergency response system.

Both initiatives reflect ongoing efforts to strengthen Brazil’s emergency medical infrastructure and professional expertise.
