Brazilian cities hold public workshops on sanitation and urban planning

The municipality of Rio Claro (RJ) hosted its second public workshop on the Municipal Basic Sanitation Plan on 28 July, presenting a diagnostic report and discussing proposals to improve water supply, sewage, urban drainage and solid‑waste management. The event was organized by the municipal Environment and Agriculture Secretariat, the Guandu River Basin Committee and engineering firm Premier Engenharia.

On 27 July, Canoas (RS) held the sixth thematic table of its Master Plan revision, focusing on infrastructure and sanitation. Municipal departments of Urban Development, Environment and Works, as well as utility companies Corsan and SULGÁS, participated to shape future policies for the city’s growth and public health.

A virtual workshop on the environment was scheduled for 29 July by São Gonçalo (RJ) as part of its Participatory Master Plan. Organized by the Municipal Secretariat of Integrated Management and Special Projects (Semgipe) and conducted on Microsoft Teams, the session invited residents and civil‑society representatives to contribute to the city’s planning process.
