Sorocaba extends free Luna Park tickets, adds food drive and mobile clinic
The municipality of Sorocaba has extended its partnership with the itinerant Luna Park amusement park, keeping 50 free daily tickets available to families until July 3. Registrations are opened weekly, with the first period covering June 15‑19.
In a separate initiative, the city’s Fundo Social de Solidariedade ran a "solidarity sticker" campaign, letting residents trade one kilogram of non‑perishable food for a World Cup 2026 sticker pack. The effort gathered roughly one tonne of food, which will be distributed to families facing vulnerability.
The health secretariat continues the "Médico na Praça" mobile‑clinic program, scheduled for June 15‑19. Clinics will operate in Jardim Itapemirim, Jacutinga and Vila Hortência, offering basic health checks, blood‑pressure and glucose screening, nursing care and doctor consultations for residents of socially vulnerable neighborhoods.
