Brazil's 2026 National Multivaccination Campaign Expands Across Municipalities
The National Multivaccination Campaign 2026 runs from 3 August to 1 September, targeting children and adolescents younger than 15 years to update their vaccination records. The effort aims for at least 95 % coverage and includes a “Dia D” mobilisation on 22 August, when municipalities open additional sites such as schools, shopping centres and transport hubs to improve access.
A new injectable polio booster (VIP) for 4‑year‑old children replaces the oral vaccine, adding a second dose to the schedule. The campaign offers all vaccines listed in the National Immunisation Calendar, including polio, measles‑mumps‑rubella, diphtheria‑tetanus‑pertussis, hepatitis A & B, rotavirus, meningitis, yellow fever, HPV, influenza and COVID‑19.
Municipal health secretariats in Bragança Paulista, Goiana, Ilhéus, Itabuna, Corumbá, Guarapuava, Rio de Janeiro (airport and bus‑terminal points) and other cities have launched local actions, deploying teams to verify vaccination cards, provide missed doses and conduct the Dia D events at nine strategic points on 22 August.
