Brazil rolls out nationwide multivaccination drive for children and teens

The Brazilian Ministry of Health has launched the 2026 National Multivaccination Campaign, running from early August until 1 September. The effort targets children and adolescents up to 15 years old, aiming to update vaccination records and provide all vaccines listed in the National Immunization Calendar. A special “Dia D” on 22 August expands hours and locations in each municipality.

Cities across the country – including Cuiabá, Goiana, Itabuna, Mogi Mirim, Joinville, Goiânia, Tocantins, Belém and others – have opened dozens of vaccination points, organized mobile units, and scheduled extra‑hours sessions. Local health secretaries such as Deisi Bocalon (Cuiabá), Camila Brito (Itabuna), Cinara Brito (Cuiabá) and Nirvana Braga (Rio das Ostras) are coordinating the actions.

In response to recent measles outbreaks in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro has added temporary vaccination sites at airports, the main bus terminal and a train station, while Rio Grande da Serra runs “extramuro” stations at a CPTM hub. Digital tools like São Paulo’s “De Olho na Fila” help residents avoid queues and locate available doses. The campaign also includes flu, COVID‑19, HPV and other routine immunizations, seeking to raise coverage and prevent the return of vaccine‑preventable diseases.
