Brazilian cities launch training and credit programs for women entrepreneurs

The Subsecretaria de Políticas da Mulher of Itaboraí, together with the Casa do Empreendedor, held the second edition of a capacity‑building cycle for entrepreneurs on 15 May. The workshop, conducted at the OAB Itaboraí headquarters and led by Sebrae consultant Alberto Luiz Stassem, covered strategic planning, sales techniques and customer service, aiming to strengthen existing businesses and help new ones launch. Subsecretary Joana Lage emphasized the goal of expanding income opportunities for local women.

In Boa Vista, 150 women entrepreneurs signed contracts on 16 May for the municipal credit line “Mulher Empreendedora,” which will allocate a total of R$450 000 – R$3 000 per participant – to fund equipment, raw materials, inventory expansion and other improvements. The program, run by the Agência Municipal de Empreendedorismo (AME‑BV), also provides technical monitoring and free courses on financial management, pricing and food safety, continuing support after the loan disbursement.
