Brazilian cities set August 10 deadline for 2026 IPTU installments

The municipality of Bragança Paulista in São Paulo state announced that the eighth installment of the 2026 IPTU property tax is due on 10 August. Taxpayers can generate the payment slip online through the city’s official portal and also obtain assistance at the “Posto Agiliza” office in the municipal building. The city kept the same valuation criteria as the previous year, applying a 5.17 % IPCA adjustment, which resulted in about 59 % of owners seeing a reduction in their tax bill.

In São Luís, Maranhão, the second installment of the 2026 IPTU also expires on 10 August. Residents can pay the bill via barcode at self‑service points, the Banco do Brasil app, or PIX after retrieving the slip from the municipal finance portal (Semfaz). The city provides several decentralized service points, including locations in major shopping centers, to assist taxpayers.
