Brazilian citizens in Poland seek embassy aid after MEP threat
Two Brazilian women living in Poland have sought assistance from the Brazilian Embassy in Warsaw after feeling threatened by a social media post from Polish Member of the European Parliament Dominik Tarczyński.
Tarczyński posted a photo of the two women on the platform X, which depicted them showing support for Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva during the first round of the Brazilian elections. In the post, the lawmaker requested information about the women, marking the request as “URGENTE” (urgent). One of the women was noted for wearing a Workers' Party pin.
The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty) confirmed it has been notified of the situation and stated that the consular sector of the Embassy in Warsaw is available to provide assistance to the citizens if requested.
