Brazilian coffee prices fall amid dry weather, affecting global markets

On Thursday, coffee prices in Brazil declined sharply. In São Paulo, arabica coffee fell 1.81% to R$1,701.33 per 60 kg sack, while robusta dropped 1.84% to R$1,082.29. The downturn follows a week of unusually dry conditions in Brazil’s coffee‑growing regions, which analysts say will hasten the harvest.

In the United States, New York coffee futures for December 2026 contracts slipped 0.84% to US$3.14 per pound. The price drop is linked to the same Brazilian weather pattern, as traders anticipate increased supply. Related commodity futures saw cacao and orange‑juice contracts fall, while sugar rose and cotton edged higher.
