Brazilian companies invest in electric and gas-powered vehicle fleets

Brazilian companies are making significant investments in sustainable transport and fleet decarbonization. Scania and Reiter Log have announced a record acquisition of 220 trucks powered by natural gas and/or biomethane, with deliveries expected by December. Additionally, Reiter Log has begun operating the first Scania electric mechanical horse in Brazil, part of a goal to transition its entire fleet to alternative energy sources by 2035.

In a separate initiative, the infrastructure company Motiva is investing approximately R$ 50 million to expand its fleet of electric and hybrid vehicles. The company aims to increase its electrified fleet from 91 units to 125 by the end of 2026. This expansion includes inspection cars, light tow trucks, and rescue vehicles across various concessions, including the BR-163 in Mato Grosso do Sul and several highway systems in São Paulo, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul.
