Brazilian companies scale AI and digital technology investments

Major Brazilian companies are significantly increasing investments in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure. In the banking sector, discussions at Febraban Tech highlight a shift toward integrating AI, data, cloud computing, and cybersecurity into core operational models. While 83% of transactions occur through digital channels, a gap remains in scaling technology; although 52% of institutions use AI agents, only 16% report large-scale financial results. The sector projects an investment of R$3 billion in AI, analytics, and big data by 2026.

Simultaneously, food delivery platform iFood announced a R$24 billion investment plan for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, a 41% increase from the previous cycle. Over R$2 billion of this will be dedicated to technology and innovation, including the development of the Large Commerce Model (LCM) in partnership with Prosus. This generative AI model aims to interpret consumer intent through search and purchase data. iFood also reported the creation of 27,000 AI agents within a year to support internal processes and service personalization.
