Brazil sees wide regional fuel price variations
A Procon survey in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul recorded price differences of up to 17% among 35 fuel stations. Diesel S500 reached R$ 7.36‑7.49 per litre (credit), while diesel S10 varied from R$ 6.76 to R$ 7.49. Gasoline prices spanned an 11.31% range, averaging R$ 6.34 (debit) to R$ 6.49 (credit). Ethanol’s lowest price was R$ 3.77 per litre (credit).
In Manaus, the Procon’s monthly LPG study showed the 13‑kg cylinder fell 2.37% to R$ 121‑123, the 8‑kg cylinder rose 1.27% to about R$ 80, and the 7‑kg cylinder dropped 2.60% to R$ 75‑86. Separately, gasoline in Manaus rose to R$ 7.29 per litre, prompting an investigation by Procon‑AM into possible abuse.
A separate ANP report for Goiás indicated the average price of regular gasoline at R$ 6.69 per litre, 0.11 above the national average, with station prices ranging from R$ 5.79 to R$ 6.99 – a gap of roughly R$ 1.20 per litre.
