Brazilian cooperatives advance female entrepreneurship and leadership

Financial cooperatives in Brazil are implementing initiatives to support female entrepreneurship and leadership.

Sicoob Coopacredi was recognized by Sebrae Minas as a standout financial institution during the Elas em Rede event in Belo Horizonte. The cooperative was highlighted for its leadership in distributing resources from the FAMPE Delas guarantee fund, which supported 277 female-led businesses between June 2025 and June 2026. The institution facilitated over 19.7 million reais in credit and guarantees for regional entrepreneurs, managing a total portfolio of 113 million reais under the Sebrae program.

Separately, Sicredi UniEstados celebrated the graduation of its Women's Committee. After a four-year program involving over 48 hours of training, 44 members from Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and Minas Gerais completed the course. The initiative aims to increase female representation within the cooperative's social framework, specifically targeting leadership roles such as core coordinators and board members.
