Legislative support has recently strengthened with the enactment of Law 15.433/2026, which recognizes cooperativism as a “national cultural manifestation”. In a move toward digital modernization, major financial institutions including Banco do Brasil, Caixa Econômica Federal, and several credit cooperatives—such as Ailos, Sicoob, Sicredi, and Unicred—have entered a Technical Cooperation Agreement with the Operador Nacional do Sistema de Registro Eletrônico de Imóveis (ONR). This partnership aims to digitize real estate credit processes through blockchain technology and the tokenization of contracts and records. The initiative seeks to create a more integrated and traceable system, with operational testing scheduled to begin in March 2027. Recent developments also highlight the sector’s role in social advancement. Sicoob Coopacredi was recognized by Sebrae Minas for its leadership in distributing resources from the FAMPE Delas guarantee fund, which supported 277 female-led businesses with over 19.7 million reais in credit and guarantees between June 2025 and June 2026.
