Brazilian cultural grants allocate millions to artists, tourism and popular heritage
The Instituto Cultural Urukum in Goiás announced three calls – CERNE, GRÃO and PONTO – that together will award R$ 70,000 in prizes and scholarships to artists, collectives, researchers and authors from across Brazil, with 40 % reserved for residents of Goiás. Winners will receive cash awards of R$ 4,000, R$ 8,000 and R$ 2,000 respectively, and participate in virtual exhibitions and publications.
The Braztoa Sustainability Prize 2026 released its list of 64 semifinalists, representing projects from all five Brazilian macro‑regions. The competition, focused on tourism events as agents of positive impact, will culminate in a final award ceremony on 12 November in Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul.
The Edital Apoia 2026, a joint initiative of the Centro Cultural Vale Maranhão and the Casa da Cultura de Canaã dos Carajás, will select 40 cultural makers in each of Pará and Maranhão, granting R$ 10,000 to each participant to support popular and community‑based cultural expressions.
