Brazilian developer creates Xbox Cloud Gaming client for jailbroken PS5
A Brazilian developer, Rafael Abud Ferreira (known as RafaelNGP), has created a non-official homebrew application called ‘PSBox Cloud Gaming’ that allows jailbroken PlayStation 5 consoles to access Xbox Cloud Gaming.
The application functions as a native client, enabling users to stream games from the Xbox catalog at 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second. It utilizes the PS5's GPU for 4K upscaling via AMD FSR 1 or Anime4K. The software features deep integration with Sony hardware, supporting the DualSense controller's adaptive triggers, rumble, and light bar, and allowing up to four controllers for local multiplayer.
Users can access the Xbox Game Pass catalog, free-to-play titles, and individual purchases. The client also supports Xbox Remote Play, allowing users to stream content from their own Xbox consoles. A recent update (version 0.9.5) added native voice chat support using the DualSense microphone or connected headsets. Authentication is handled through Microsoft's official device page via a mobile device or computer to avoid entering passwords directly on the console.
