Brazilian fashion brands embrace national nature and culture
Brazilian fashion brands are increasingly incorporating the country's natural biodiversity and cultural heritage into their latest collections.
Animale’s Summer 27 collection draws inspiration from the botanical illustrations of Margaret Mee, utilizing a color palette of greens, earth tones, violet, and acai purple to reflect Brazilian flora. Similarly, Salinas has launched a summer collection inspired by the dunes of Arraial do Cabo and national fauna, featuring exclusive prints of Brazilian birds created in partnership with Manacá Estúdio and artist Fernanda Gomes.
Havaianas has also released the ‘Exuberância Cheia de Brasil’ collection, which seeks to translate national identity into footwear. The collection features prints inspired by various cultural elements, including the ‘Caquinhos’ pattern, which references the traditional handmade tile mosaics found in São Paulo homes during the 1940s, and embroidery traditions from Ilha do Ferro in Alagoas.
