The Military Fire Department of Santa Catarina (CBMSC) announced the opening of applications for its 2026 Community Firefighter Course in Campos Novos. The program offers 30 vacancies, prioritising residents or workers from Campos Novos, Abdon Batista, Celso Ramos and Vargem. The 445‑hour course combines theory, practical exercises and operational internship to train volunteers for fire prevention and emergency response. Applications are accepted from 24 June to 8 July, with a written test scheduled for 15 July if needed.

Separately, the Military Fire Department of Mato Grosso (CBMMT) released the final call for candidates to take the Physical Aptitude Test for its temporary brigadist hiring process. A total of 150 positions are available across 29 municipalities, with the test set for 27–28 June. Successful candidates will undergo a training course before deployment to support forest‑fire prevention and suppression during the dry season. Contracts last four months with a monthly salary of R$ 2,600, plus statutory benefits.
