Brazilian Fire Services Hold Honors for Instructors in Rio and Promote Colonels in Ceará

The Corpo de Bombeiros Militar do Rio de Janeiro (CBMERJ) marked Teaching Day with a ceremony at the Directorate‑General of Education and Instruction, honoring active and veteran firefighters for their contributions to training. A keynote speech was delivered by retired Colonel Carlos Alberto de Carvalho, who reflected on the importance of continuous education for the corps.

In Fortaleza, Governor Elmano de Freitas promoted 15 officers to the rank of colonel, including four new colonels for the Corpo de Bombeiros Militar do Ceará (CBMCE) and eleven for the state police. The promotions were presented as part of a broader effort to strengthen the state’s security forces and recognize long‑standing service.
