Brazilian fugitives detained in Portugal after nine years
A Brazilian man, Djalma Enares, and his partner, Marluchi Bellini, were recently detained in Portugal following a joint operation between the Portuguese Judiciary Police and Brazilian authorities. The couple had been living in Portugal for nine years while evading justice in Brazil for crimes committed in 2014.
In Brazil, the pair managed a recovery center for drug addicts in São Paulo, where they were accused of physical and verbal aggression and torture against patients. Despite being under investigation by the Public Ministry, the couple successfully integrated into Portuguese society. Enares even registered with the Order of Psychologists and worked as a school psychologist in the Azores, Alentejo, and Cascais.
