Brazilian gubernatorial candidates ACM Neto and Renan Filho unveil health and education programmes

ACM Neto, the União Brasil candidate for governor of Bahia, announced the creation of a "Pix Saúde" programme. The initiative would subsidise private hospital and clinic care for patients unable to secure a public‑sector slot, operating on a night‑shift (corujão) basis to reduce waiting lists.

Renan Filho, senator and pre‑candidate for governor of Alagoas (MDB), presented a proposal for an additional scholarship for public‑school students who achieve high grades, complementing the existing Cartão Escola 10 programme. He also pledged to revive the Professor Mentor programme, increase teacher salaries, improve school infrastructure and build new sports centres across the state.
