Brazilian initiatives launch campaigns to combat hunger
Various Brazilian initiatives are mobilizing to combat hunger through community and corporate partnerships. The Rock in Rio festival has partnered with Ação da Cidadania for the ‘Eu Vou Doar’ campaign. Rock in Rio has committed 500,000 meals to the cause, with a broader goal of reaching 2 million meals through public donations. As part of the incentive, donors contributing R$ 25 will be entered into a draw for a total of 1,000 festival tickets.
In the Novo Hamburgo region, the Banco de Alimentos da Região do Calçado (BARC) is hosting its 5th ‘Pizza do Bem’ event on October 16. This drive-thru initiative raises funds to support the institution’s work in collecting and distributing food to vulnerable populations in Novo Hamburgo, Campo Bom, Estância Velha, and Sapiranga.
