Brazilian institutions implement first aid training for staff

Various institutions in Brazil are implementing first aid training programs to enhance safety for vulnerable populations.

In Itabuna, caregivers at shelters managed by the Secretariat for Social Promotion and Combat of Poverty (SEMPS) participated in a training session led by the 4th Military Firefighters Battalion. The training focused on managing choking, seizures, and cardiac arrest. Officials noted that the training is increasingly necessary as the profile of residents in these shelters has changed, with approximately 80% of individuals now using controlled medications.

Additionally, the Eugênia Scharlé Municipal School organized a discussion and practical workshop led by a physiotherapist specializing in traumatology and orthopedics. The initiative aimed to prepare school staff and monitors to handle common emergencies, such as choking and fractures, following recent national reports of similar incidents involving children.
