Brazilian Marine Corps demonstrates SMACE anti-tank system
During Operação Formosa 2026, held in Formosa, Brazil, the Brazilian Marine Corps demonstrated the SMACE (Expeditionary Anti-Tank Missile System). The system features the MAX 1.2 AC, a high-precision guided anti-tank missile developed by SIATT.
The SMACE system is integrated into a 4x4 QT vehicle, utilizing high-mobility ISV-U light armored vehicles from GM Defense. These vehicles are equipped with Brazilian-made engines and light ballistic protection. In addition to the MAX missile, the system incorporates high-technology drones from the EDGE Group for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and ground attacks.
Designed for amphibious and coastal operations, the SMACE system aims to neutralize enemy armored vehicles and light vessels in complex terrains. SIATT, a certified Brazilian Strategic Defense Company, produces the MAX missile in Caçapava, São Paulo, with two lots already delivered to the Brazilian Army. The company also showcased the MANSUP-ER, an extended-range version of the MANSUP missile with a range exceeding 200 kilometers, capable of being integrated into both naval and terrestrial platforms.
