Brazilian mother and daughter arrested for attempted murder of trans woman in Parintins

Darli da Silva Nunes and her daughter Darlyng da Silva Salvador were arrested on Thursday in Manaus, Brazil, after a year on the run for their alleged involvement in the July 2025 attack on trans woman Emilly in Parintins, Amazonas. The assault occurred in a bar at Praça dos Bois, where Emilly was stabbed several times and sustained serious injuries that left lasting sequelae. Police say the motive was revenge stemming from a prior dispute at a fuel station.

The suspects were located in the Cidade de Deus neighbourhood of north‑Manaus following anonymous tips. The operation was carried out jointly by the Specialized Homicide and Kidnapping Division (DEHS) and the Interactive Police Division (DIP) of Parintins. Both were placed in preventive detention after the arrests. Darlyng told investigators, “Ele me furou todinha. Ele mexia comigo,” describing threats she received from the victim before the attack.
