Brazilian municipalities announce auctions for surplus assets

Municipalities in Brazil are organizing public auctions to sell surplus assets, including vehicles, machinery, and scrap materials, to generate revenue for public investments.

In Osório, the city administration has scheduled an auction for September 4, featuring items such as an asphalt plant, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, buses, trucks, and agricultural equipment. The sale will include various scrap materials, such as electronics and tires, with an estimated total value of approximately R$ 200,000. The auction will be conducted both online and in person.

Similarly, the municipality of Ibirapitanga is preparing a public auction for assets deemed unserviceable, such as tractors, motor graders, and heavy machinery. Local officials stated that the proceeds from these sales are intended to fund priority areas including education, health, and housing.
