Sorocaba boxing team heads to fourth stage of school tournament

The municipal boxing team representing Sorocaba, backed by the city hall and Ghimper Academias, will compete on June 20 at the fourth stage of the Fedeesp School Boxing Circuit in Campinas, São Paulo. The squad qualified after winning 14 medals and finishing third overall in the previous stage.

All athletes come from free‑boxing centers run by the Liga Sorocabana de Boxe e Artes Marciais (Lisoboxe), which provides free training, uniforms, equipment and travel support to children from low‑income families. Coach Vladimir de Godoi said, “Our goal is to place Sorocaba among the ten best teams in the state.”
