Brazilian municipalities launch public health initiatives

Municipalities in Brazil are implementing various public health initiatives. In Sorocaba, the Health Secretariat is operating the ‘Médico na Praça’ program, which utilizes a mobile clinic to provide medical consultations, nursing care, and screenings for chronic conditions like hypertension and diabetes. The service targets vulnerable neighborhoods and provides care through spontaneous demand, requiring only a photo ID.

In Goiânia, the Municipal Health Secretariat has launched a vaccination mobilization week from September 21 to 26. The campaign aims to update the vaccination records of municipal health workers, including clinical staff and support personnel, to protect them and the population against diseases such as measles, hepatitis B, influenza, and Covid-19.
