Brazilian municipalities expand emergency medical services
Brazilian municipalities Indaiatuba and Parauapebas are expanding their emergency medical services through the acquisition of new vehicles and equipment funded via the federal Novo PAC program.
In Indaiatuba, the city received four new ambulances to support the implementation of the Samu 192 service. The fleet includes one Advanced Support Ambulance (USA) for serious cases and three Basic Support Ambulances (USB) for lower complexity occurrences and patient transport. The municipality has allocated R$ 170,000 per month to cover the operational costs of these vehicles.
Parauapebas has also strengthened its health infrastructure by receiving a new ambulance for the Samu service, a micro-bus dedicated to Treatment Outside of Domicile (TFD), and various uniforms and equipment for health teams. The new micro-bus is equipped with accessibility features to improve the transport of patients traveling to other cities for specialized medical procedures.
