Brazilian municipalities implement LED lighting upgrades

Municipalities in Brazil are advancing public lighting modernization through the installation of LED technology. In Foz do Iguaçu, the ‘Foz Cidade Iluminada’ program has already replaced nearly 15,000 lighting points, covering over 35% of the city's network. Current works are focused on the Vila A neighborhood, with an expected completion time of 15 days. The transition to LED is expected to reduce energy consumption by up to 60% and extend the lifespan of luminaires to over 60,000 hours.

In Naviraí, the local government has begun upgrading the Estádio Virotão with 80 new 1,000W LED reflectors. This project aims to improve visibility for state-level matches and enhance safety for those using the stadium's walking track at night. The initiative is part of a broader municipal effort to install LED lighting on major avenues and strategic points throughout the city to increase energy efficiency and public safety.
