Brazilian municipalities implement neuroscience-based teacher training

Municipal education departments in Brazil are conducting training sessions for educators focused on neuroscience and its application to learning and literacy.

In Marília, school managers participated in a training program titled ‘Neuroscience and Learning’ at Univem. Organized by the Municipal Secretariat of Education in partnership with Planneta Educação, the session explored how brain development, memory, and plasticity influence pedagogical practices. The goal is to foster more inclusive and intentional teaching methods that accommodate individual learning rhythms and diverse student needs.

In Lucas do Rio Verde, more than 250 literacy professionals attended a Municipal Education Seminar. The event focused on evidence-based literacy, specifically how the brain learns to read. Led by Dr. Sandra Puliezi, the seminar emphasized the importance of phonological awareness—the ability to identify and manipulate speech sounds—to improve reading fluency and comprehension among students.
