Brazilian municipalities launch cultural funding calls via PNAB
Municipalities in Brazil are launching new public calls to fund community-based cultural initiatives through the second cycle of the Aldir Blanc National Policy for Culture Promotion (PNAB).
In Teresópolis, the Municipal Secretariat of Culture has opened online applications for the 'Edital TCC Pontos de Cultura'. The program aims to select two institutions to strengthen community culture, with each selected project receiving R$ 122,126.98. Eligible applicants must be certified 'Pontos de Cultura' with a CNPJ and at least three years of continuous activity. Applications are open until October 2 via the CultBR Editais platform.
In Foz do Iguaçu, the Cultural Foundation launched a public call to award R$ 237,999.60 to 20 community cultural initiatives. Each selected entity will receive R$ 11,899.98 as a non-reimbursable donation based on their historical community impact, meaning no new project execution or formal accounting of the funds is required. The call is open to both certified entities and informal collectives with at least two years of local activity. Applications are accepted through September 30 via the Foz do Iguaçu City Hall digital government platform.
