Brazilian municipalities launch free vocational and literacy training programs
The city of Mogi das Cruzes in São Paulo state opened registrations for free courses in welding and electrical maintenance with air‑conditioning. The program, part of the Caminho da Capacitação initiative coordinated by the Fundo Social de São Paulo and the municipal secretariat of Economic Development and Work, offers 48 spots across three classes from 10 to 21 August. Mobile classrooms will operate at the University of Mogi das Cruzes, and participants will receive a 40‑hour certified qualification.
In Assis Brasil, Acre, the municipal education department held its third Education Training Cycle from 29 to 31 July. The event gathered teachers, coordinators and specialists to discuss inclusive pedagogy, literacy and support for neuro‑divergent students. Awards from the Alfabetiza Acre programme were presented to three municipal schools, highlighting the local government's commitment to improving literacy under mayor Jerry Correia.
