Brazilian municipalities launch health and mental health initiatives
Municipalities in Brazil are implementing various health initiatives. In Porto Velho, the 'Giro da Saúde' program at the Medical Specialties Center (CEM) recorded an average of 400 services, including medical consultations and imaging exams. The initiative provided access to general practice, gynecology, pediatrics, psychology, psychiatry, orthopedics, cardiology, and ophthalmology, alongside vaccination and medication distribution.
In Rondonópolis, the local government launched the 'Setembro Amarelo' (Yellow September) campaign to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Activities held at the Mental Health Outpatient Clinic included yoga, poetry workshops, and karaoke. The municipality is increasing availability for psychiatry and psychology services throughout the month to strengthen mental health support and prevention efforts.
